Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Parliament Square, London SW1P 3JX. Use a navigation app for the best route. Note that parking in central London can be expensive and limited. Look for nearby car parks, but be prepared for parking fees, which can range from £2 to £4 per hour. Once parked, the statue is a short walk from most parking locations.

• Underground

  The nearest Tube station is Westminster, which is on the Jubilee, Circle, and District Lines. From Westminster station, exit onto Bridge Street, then walk towards Parliament Square, which is approximately a 5-minute walk. Follow the signs for 'Parliament Square' and you'll find the Nelson Mandela Statue in the gardens there. A standard single fare for the Tube is about £2.40 with an Oyster card.

• Bus

  Take a London bus to Parliament Square. Bus routes 3, 11, 24, 87, 88, and 148 all stop nearby. Depending on your starting location, you may need to transfer buses. Check the Transport for London (TfL) website for specific route options. The bus fare is £1.65 per journey, and you can use an Oyster card or contactless payment.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can use a bike rental service such as Santander Cycles. There are docking stations near Parliament Square. You can cycle to Parliament Square from various points in Central London, but be aware of traffic rules and safety. The first 30 minutes of rental is usually free, but subsequent time may incur costs.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Westminster, you can simply walk to the statue. Walking from areas such as the Houses of Parliament or Big Ben, it will take about 5-10 minutes. Follow the signs to Parliament Square. The statue is located in the gardens at the square.
