Walking
If you are starting from Inverness city centre, begin at the Eastgate Shopping Centre. Head out onto the pedestrian area and walk towards the River Ness, which should be on your left. Continue walking along the riverbank pathway until you reach the bridge named the 'Inverness Castle Bridge'. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection of Bridge Street and Academy Street. Turn left onto Academy Street and walk until you see the entrance to Market Brae Steps on your right, just past the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.

From Inverness Bus Station, exit onto Margaret Street and turn left. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Academy Street. Turn right onto Academy Street and follow it until you come to the junction at Bridge Street. Cross the road to Academy Street, and continue as described in the walking guidance, heading towards Market Brae Steps which will be on your right after the Inverness Museum.

If you are cycling from the city centre, you can start at the Eastgate Shopping Centre. Head towards the River Ness and use the cycle path along the river. Follow the path towards the Inverness Castle Bridge, cross the bridge, and then navigate through Academy Street as previously described.
