Car
To reach Sound of Sleat by car, start from the main town of Portree, located in the north of the Isle of Skye. Head south on the A87 road, following signs for Broadford. After approximately 20 miles, turn left onto the A851 towards Armadale. Continue on the A851 for about 7 miles until you reach the Sound of Sleat. Parking is available in designated areas along the shore, but be mindful of any parking restrictions.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Portree to Broadford. The bus service is operated by Stagecoach, and the journey takes about 40 minutes. From Broadford, transfer to the bus heading to Armadale, which is also operated by Stagecoach. This second leg of the journey will take approximately 15 minutes. Disembark at the stop closest to the Sound of Sleat and enjoy a short walk to the water's edge. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as services may vary, especially on weekends.
