  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Balloch, which is at the southern tip of Loch Lomond. Take the A82 northbound towards Crianlarich. After about 10 miles, turn left onto the B834 towards Rowardennan. Continue on this road for approximately 5 miles until you reach the Rowardennan car park. This car park is the closest access point to Ben Lomond and charges a fee of around £4 for parking. From the car park, follow the well-marked trail that leads to the summit of Ben Lomond.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a train from Glasgow to Balloch. The journey takes about 50 minutes. From Balloch, you can catch a bus (number 309) to Rowardennan. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Rowardennan stop, you will find the Rowardennan car park. From here, follow the marked trail that leads to the summit of Ben Lomond. Note that the train fare from Glasgow to Balloch is around £7, and the bus fare is approximately £4.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the Rowardennan area, you can walk to the Rowardennan car park from the nearby accommodations. It's a short walk of about 15-20 minutes. Once at the car park, you can access the trailhead for Ben Lomond. The hike to the summit is challenging and can take around 2-4 hours depending on your fitness level.
