From Newcastle city centre, head to the Eldon Square bus station. Take the number 21 or 22 bus towards Durham. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the St Helens Well stop. From there, walk for about 10 minutes along the main road until you reach Sylvan House, where the Riverside walk starts.

Train
Head to Newcastle Central Station and take a train towards Darlington. Get off at Durham Station, which is about a 15-minute journey. From Durham Station, exit and walk towards the city centre, then follow signs to St Helens Well. The Riverside walk is located near Sylvan House, which is about a 20-minute walk from the station.

Walking
If you are already in Durham city centre, make your way to the Market Place and head south on North Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with St Helens Way. Turn left onto St Helens Way and follow it for about 15 minutes. You will see Sylvan House on your right, where you can access the Riverside walk.

Metro
From Newcastle, take the Metro (Tyne and Wear Metro) to the South Shields line and change at South Shields for a bus to Durham. Once in Durham, follow the same walking directions as above to reach Sylvan House and the Riverside walk.
