The club's origins trace back to 1982, when a group of friends—Ray Lindsey, Mark Futter, Stephen Sadd, Stephen Dixon, Michael Betts, Richard Sales, and Ivan Loades—began running together under informal banners like Fitt Signs and Midnight Runners. They met at events such as the 2nd Norfolk Marathon and formalized as Norwich Road Runners in late 1983 or early 1984. The first official record appears at the 2nd Ipswich Marathon in September 1984. Initially running from Crome Recreation Centre, the club affiliated in 1985 with Mick Betts as its first secretary, laying the foundation for decades of growth.Training and Activities
