The pub's architecture features exposed beams, pantiles, original floorboards, and exposed brickwork throughout its various low-ceilinged bar areas, all warmed by a large and impressive central fireplace that divides the restaurant from the main bar.

As one of Norfolk's original pioneers of gastropub dining, The Kings Head has earned significant recognition for its commitment to local produce and seasonal specialities. The establishment holds 2 AA rosettes since 2014 and was awarded Norfolk Pub of the Year 2023 by The Norfolk Food & Drink Awards. The kitchen philosophy is firmly rooted in local markets, with menus changing monthly and a special 48.5-mile menu that changes every few days, showcasing produce from Norfolk, Suffolk, and throughout East Anglia. Dishes range from proper pub classics with imaginative local twists to refined seasonal creations, including specialities such as treacle-cured Norfolk venison, fresh fish preparations, and wild mushroom risotto. Sunday roasts are particularly celebrated, served from noon to 3 PM, alongside homemade pizzas and seafood platters from 5 PM to 8 PM.
