Kenilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden Ticket

Dog friendly throughout

Kenilworth is one of the larger English Heritage sites with some indoor areas and a cafe. The site is super dog friendly, I was able to take them into the gatehouse exhibition, which I usually can’t do at this type of property. The cafe was also dog friendly, I sat inside and left them at a table while I ordered. Food was basic but reasonably priced. The audio guide was good, and I used that all the way around. The Elizabethan Garden was really well done, and had been well cared for during this hot summer. We climbed up towers, and had a great time. I was there about 2 and a half hours, could have spent longer, but had to carry on with my journey. The only small negative was the price of parking, which I hadn’t been aware of in advance.

The Lord Leycester - Historic Site and Gardens

Well worth a visit

This was a wonderful interesting visit. We were welcomed by one of the brethren who lives there and he talked animatedly about the history of the organisation, its ethos and lifestyle. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. It is well worth stopping in the cafe for lunch or a coffee.

Broadway Museum and Art Gallery Admission Ticket

Well worth a visit

We’ve been to Broadway many times, but this was our first visit to this delightful museum set in a 17th century, well-preserved building. We paid £7 entry fee as seniors. Lots to see and learn about the village and its surroundings, the museum is set out over 3 floors with tantalising views over an immaculately kept garden. Sadly, there is no public access to this outside space. The two gentlemen who greeted us on arrival were very friendly, but unfortunately one of them couldn’t stop talking as we left so I had no,opportunity to browse in the shop. This museum has a link with the Ashmolean in Oxford, so has some real treasures on show alongside locally donated items. Well worth an hour or so of your time if you’d like to learn more about the area and have a peek inside a beautiful 17th century Cotswold house.
