From West Cliff Car Park, walk towards the seafront and turn left onto Pier Road. Continue walking until you reach the foot of the 199 Steps, which are located next to Whitby Abbey.

Walk straight along the main street (New Quay Road) until you reach the harbour. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto Church Street. Follow the road until you see signs for Whitby Abbey.
