Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start in the center of Sierra de Rocha. Head southwest on Route 9 (Ruta 9) for approximately 30 kilometers. Continue on Route 9 until you reach the junction with Route 15 (Ruta 15). Take a left onto Route 15 and continue for another 10 kilometers. You will see signs for Sierra de los Rocha as you approach. Follow these signs, and you will arrive at the base of the Sierra de los Rocha mountain range. Parking is available nearby, but be sure to check for any local parking regulations.

• Public Transportation

  From the center of Sierra de Rocha, you can take a local bus to the nearest main town, which is Rocha. Buses run regularly throughout the day, and tickets can be purchased at the bus terminal. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once in Rocha, you will need to take a taxi or another bus towards the Sierra de los Rocha. Taxis can be found outside the bus terminal, and the trip will take around 20 minutes and may cost around $10-15 USD. Ensure you confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.

• Walking

  For those who prefer a more adventurous route, you can hike to Sierra de los Rocha from the nearest point accessible by car or bus. Once you arrive in Rocha, head towards the dirt trails leading into the mountain area. It is recommended to have a local map or guide, as the trails can be tricky. The hike can take several hours, so be prepared with sufficient water and snacks. It's advisable to start early in the morning to ensure you have enough daylight for your hike.
