Getting There

Car
From Valizas, head south on Route 10 (Ruta 10) towards Cabo Polonio. After approximately 12 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Keep left to continue on the dirt road towards Cabo Polonio. The last 7 kilometers will be unpaved, so drive carefully. There is a parking area near the entrance to Cabo Polonio, where you will need to park your car. Note that there is a parking fee (around 150 UYU per day). After parking, you will have to take a special 4x4 vehicle provided by the local transport service to reach the village, which costs about 200 UYU per person one way.

To get to Playa Cabo Polonio from Valizas using public transportation, first take a local bus from Valizas to the nearest town, which is Barra de Valizas. From there, you can catch a bus heading to Cabo Polonio. The bus service is limited, so check the schedule in advance. The fare is approximately 300 UYU. Once you arrive in Cabo Polonio, you can walk to Playa Cabo Polonio, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
