Car
If you're starting from the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park, head south on the Grand View Point Road (Utah Route 313) for about 20 miles until you reach the junction with US-191. Turn right onto US-191 and travel south for about 25 miles. Look for the signs for the Burr Trail and turn left onto Burr Trail Road. Follow Burr Trail Road for approximately 15 miles until you reach the end of the road at the Waterpocket Fold. From here, you'll need to park your car and prepare for the hike.
Hiking
To reach Reflection Canyon from the end of Burr Trail Road, you will need to embark on a challenging hike. The trail is not well-marked, so it's essential to use a GPS device or a detailed map for navigation. Hike approximately 4.5 miles down to the canyon, following a route that takes you through some rugged terrain. The descent involves navigating steep areas and can be difficult, so ensure you have proper hiking gear and plenty of water. The landscape can be confusing, so keep an eye out for rock formations and landmarks to help guide you.
Boat (optional)
Alternatively, if you're interested in a water route, you can rent a boat or kayak from the nearby Lake Powell area. Launch your boat from the Antelope Point Marina and navigate towards Reflection Canyon. This method allows you to approach the canyon from the water, providing a unique perspective. Be sure to check for boat rental availability and costs at the marina beforehand.
