Getting There

Hiking
From downtown Moab, walk east on Main Street until you reach the intersection with US-191. Cross the street and continue walking on the sidewalk until you reach the entrance to the Arches National Park. The park entrance is approximately 5 miles from downtown. You will need to pay an entrance fee at the gate. Once inside the park, follow the signs for the Windows Section. The trailhead for the Windows Loop Trail is located at the end of the parking area.

Hiking
Once at the Windows Loop Trailhead, you will begin your hike. Follow the trail for about 1 mile until you reach the junction with the trail leading to the North Window. Continue on the trail toward the North Window. After passing under the North Window, you will see signs for the trail to Bowtie Arch. Follow the signs and head to the left to take the trail leading toward Bowtie Arch.

The hike to Bowtie Arch from the North Window trail junction is about 0.5 miles further. The trail may be rocky and uneven, so be sure to wear good hiking shoes. As you approach Bowtie Arch, keep an eye out for the arch on your right side. It will be visible from a distance, allowing you to appreciate its unique shape as you get closer.

Once you reach Bowtie Arch, take some time to enjoy the view and take photos. After visiting the arch, retrace your steps back to the North Window trail junction, and then head back to the parking area to complete your hike. The entire round trip hike from the Windows Loop Trailhead to Bowtie Arch and back is approximately 3 miles.
