Walking
If you are starting from downtown Salt Lake City, head north on Main Street. Continue walking until you reach 300 North, then turn right. Walk for about 6 blocks until you reach State Street (approximately 800 East). Turn left and walk up State Street until you reach the Utah State Capitol building. The Mormon Battalion Monument is located on the Philo T. Farnsworth Promenade, just to the east of the Capitol. The monument is approximately a 20-25 minute walk from downtown.

Public Transit (Bus)
From downtown Salt Lake City, you can take the UTA TRAX light rail. Board the Red Line at the City Center station heading towards the University of Utah. Get off at the Salt Lake City Library station. From there, transfer to Bus 200 (Capitol Hill) at the library stop. The bus will take you directly up to the Utah State Capitol. After getting off, walk east along the Philo T. Farnsworth Promenade to reach the Mormon Battalion Monument. The entire journey should take about 30-40 minutes.
