To reach Rush Lake by car, start from Tooele, UT. Head west on UT-112 W for approximately 8 miles. Turn left onto UT-36 S and continue for about 6 miles. Then, take a right onto Rush Valley Road (you'll see a sign for Rush Lake). Follow Rush Valley Road until it leads you directly to the lake area. Be aware that some roads may not be paved and could require a vehicle with higher clearance.
Public Transportation
Currently, public transportation options to Rush Lake are limited. You can take a bus from Tooele to the nearest town that has services, which is likely to be Erda. From there, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining distance to Rush Lake. It is advisable to check local bus schedules and plan ahead, as service may not be frequent.
Bicycle
If you are feeling adventurous, cycling to Rush Lake is an option. From Tooele, take the same route as cars: head west on UT-112 W, then south on UT-36 S. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water, as this route can be challenging with minimal bike lanes. The total cycling distance is about 15 miles one way, so plan for a full day out.
Walking
Walking to Rush Lake from Tooele is not recommended due to the distance (approximately 15 miles) and lack of pedestrian-friendly routes. If you are set on walking, begin as you would by car, but it's best to arrange transportation for a portion of the journey due to safety concerns.
