Getting There

Walking
From the center of Khiva, head towards the West Gate (Ichan Kala). Once you reach the gate, enter the Ichan Kala fortress area. Walk straight along the main street, Ulugh Beg Street, which should be lined with shops and cafes. Continue walking until you see the large blue dome of the Tash Khauli Palace on your left. Kuhna Ark is located just a short distance ahead on the right, directly across from the Tash Khauli Palace. Look for a large entrance with traditional Uzbek architecture.

If you are near the Juma Mosque, exit the mosque grounds and turn left. Walk along the path until you reach the main street (Islom Hoja Street). Turn right and keep walking until you see the entrance to Ichan Kala. Once inside, follow the main street through the fortress, and Kuhna Ark will be on your right, just past the Tash Khauli Palace.

Walking
If you are at the Khiva Archaeological Museum, exit the museum and head south towards the main road. Turn left onto the road and walk straight. You will eventually reach the West Gate of Ichan Kala. Enter through the gate, and follow the main street towards Tash Khauli Palace. Kuhna Ark will be located directly across from the palace, easily recognizable by its impressive entrance.
