    From St. Peter's Basilica, exit through the main entrance. Once outside, turn left and walk along the Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight until you reach the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Cross the bridge and you will find yourself on the other side of the Tiber River. After crossing the bridge, continue walking straight on the Lungotevere until you reach the intersection with Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Turn left onto Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Continue straight for about 1.5 km. You will see the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano (St. John Lateran Basilica) on your right. The Pontifical Sanctuary of the Holy Stairs is located adjacent to the basilica at P.za di S. Giovanni in Laterano, 14.
