    From St. Peter's Basilica, exit the basilica and head towards the main square, Piazza San Pietro. Walk straight through the square and exit through the main gates. Once you are on Via della Conciliazione, continue walking straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. After crossing, continue straight until you reach Piazza Navona. From there, head northeast to Via del Governo Vecchio, then turn left onto Via del Pantheon which leads to the Pantheon. From the Pantheon, walk towards Via delle Coppelle and then to Via del Corso. Continue walking straight along Via del Corso until you reach Piazza Venezia. The Altare della Patria is located at the end of this square.

    Alternatively, from St. Peter's Basilica, exit and take a left on Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight, keeping the Vatican walls on your right. As you approach the end of Via della Conciliazione, you will see the Castel Sant'Angelo. Turn right at the bridge and cross to the other side. After crossing, head directly towards Piazza Venezia by following the signs to Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Once at Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, continue until you reach Piazza Venezia which will be on your right.
