If you are standing anywhere in St. Peter's Square, simply head towards the center of the square. The St. Peter Square Obelisk is located directly in the middle of the square, surrounded by the colonnades of the Basilica. You will see the tall, ancient obelisk rising high above the square, which is about 25.5 meters (84 feet) tall, not including its base. As you approach, take note of the inscriptions on the obelisk and the fountains on either side. The obelisk is a remarkable historical landmark and a great spot for photos.
