Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from downtown Brattleboro, head east on Main Street. Walk until you reach the intersection with High Street and turn left. Continue walking on High Street until you reach the end, where it intersects with Putney Road (VT-5). Cross Putney Road and follow the signs for the Retreat Farm, which is about a mile from this point. At the base of the Retreat Farm, you will find the entrance to the trail that leads to Retreat Tower. Follow the marked trail up to the tower.

    From downtown Brattleboro, take the Windham Regional Transit District (WRTD) bus route that heads towards Putney. Get off at the closest stop near Retreat Farm, which is located on Putney Road. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles towards the Retreat Farm entrance. Once you arrive at the Retreat Farm, follow the trail leading to Retreat Tower.

  • Bicycling

    If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can start from downtown Brattleboro and head towards the Retreat Farm. Follow Main Street east until it becomes High Street. When you reach Putney Road (VT-5), turn left and cycle towards the Retreat Farm. There are bike racks available at the farm.
