    Car

    From anywhere in Caledonia County, head southwest towards Route 5. If you're starting in St. Johnsbury, take I-91 S. Take exit 24 for US-5 S towards Westminster. Continue on US-5 S for about 20 miles until you reach the junction with VT-103. Turn left onto VT-103 and follow it for about 16 miles until you reach the intersection with VT-30. Turn left onto VT-30 S and continue for approximately 5 miles. You will then take a right onto Mount Independence Road. Follow this road until you reach the Mount Independence parking area. Note: Parking may incur a fee of $2 per vehicle.

    Public Transportation (Bus)

    Take the Green Mountain Transit bus service, which runs from various towns in Caledonia County to Orwell. You will likely need to transfer buses at a central hub, such as in Montpelier or Middlebury. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited on weekends. Once you arrive in Orwell, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Mount Independence, as public transportation does not go directly to the site. Expect to pay around $10-$20 for the taxi ride depending on your location.

    Bicycle

    For the adventurous, biking to Mount Independence is a great option. You can start your ride from St. Johnsbury or another nearby town. Follow Route 5 S to VT-103, then take VT-30 S.
