Car
To reach Lake Champlain Causeway from anywhere in the Green Mountains, you will want to start by heading towards Route 89 North. Depending on your starting location, you may take local roads to connect to Route 89. Once on Route 89 North, follow the signs towards Burlington. After approximately 30 miles, take exit 14W for Route 2 West towards South Hero. Continue on Route 2 for about 15 miles until you reach the town of South Hero. In South Hero, you will see signs for the Island Line Trail, which leads directly to Lake Champlain Causeway. The causeway is located at Island Line Trail, South Hero, VT 05486. Make sure to have a GPS or a map with you for guidance, as some local roads can be winding.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound or Megabus to Burlington, VT. From Burlington, you will need to catch the Green Mountain Transit bus (Route 7) heading towards South Hero. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in South Hero, you can either walk or bike the remaining 2 miles to the Lake Champlain Causeway along Route 2. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited on weekends.
