From the Killington Resort area, head east on Killington Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with River Road. Turn right onto River Road and walk along this scenic road. After approximately 1.5 miles, look for the sign indicating 'Mountain Valley Retreat' on your left. The retreat is located at 1940 River Road Fork, so keep an eye out for that address.

Start at the nearest bus stop for the Green Mountain Transit service, which operates in the Killington area. Board a bus heading towards Rutland. Inform the driver you want to get off at the intersection of River Road and Killington Road. From there, you can either walk east along River Road for about 1.5 miles or look for a ride-sharing option to cover the remaining distance to 1940 River Road Fork.
