From the main entrance of Molly Stark State Park, head southeast on Vermont Route 9 (Molly Stark Byway). Continue driving for approximately 6 miles. As you approach Guilford, look for signs directing you to Sweet Pond. Turn left onto Sweet Pond Road. The pond will be on your right after about half a mile. There is no entrance fee for Sweet Pond, but ensure you have adequate parking.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. Travelers can take the local bus service from Brattleboro to Guilford. Once in Guilford, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to Sweet Pond, as it is approximately 2 miles from the nearest bus stop. Ensure you check the bus schedule ahead of time as services may not run frequently.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in Brattleboro. From Molly Stark State Park, take Vermont Route 9 west towards Guilford. This route is about 6 miles and is mostly downhill. Be cautious of traffic, and once you reach Guilford, turn onto Sweet Pond Road to reach the pond. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all biking safety rules.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and up for a hike, you can walk from Molly Stark State Park to Sweet Pond, although it is quite a distance. Take Vermont Route 9 west towards Guilford. The walk is approximately 6 miles, so it may take you around 2 hours. Once you reach Guilford, turn onto Sweet Pond Road to access the pond. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water.
