Car
From any location in Northeast Kingdom, head towards the town of Sutton, VT 05867. Use Route 5 or I-91 North to reach Sutton. If you're using Route 5, simply follow it until you reach the junction with Route 114. Turn onto Route 114 and continue for about 5 miles until you see signs for Willoughby State Forest. The entrance to the park will be on your left. There is no entrance fee for the park.
Public Transportation
If you're relying on public transportation, you can take a bus from nearby towns to the nearest major station, such as in St. Johnsbury. From St. Johnsbury, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Sutton. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as services may be limited. Once in Sutton, follow the directions for cars to reach the Willoughby State Forest entrance.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, cycling to Willoughby State Forest is an option. Plan your route using local roads, remembering that you will be traveling through rural areas. Starting from the town center of Sutton, head south on Route 5, then take Route 114. The ride is approximately 5 miles and takes you through scenic landscapes, perfect for an enjoyable biking experience.
