From downtown Rutland, walk to the Rutland Transit Center located at 1-3 Center Street. Take the Green Line bus towards Ludlow. The bus will travel along Route 103. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of Route 103 and Buttermilk Falls Road. From the bus stop, walk approximately 1 mile down Buttermilk Falls Road to reach the falls, which will be on your left.

Start by renting a bicycle from a local shop in Rutland, such as Green Mountain Bikes on 24 Center Street. Once you have your bike, head south on Center Street until you reach Route 7. Turn left onto Route 7 and continue until you reach the junction with Route 103. Turn right onto Route 103 and follow it until you see Buttermilk Falls Road on your right. Turn onto Buttermilk Falls Road and continue biking for about 1 mile until you arrive at Buttermilk Falls.

If you prefer to walk, start from the center of Rutland near the Rutland Free Library at 10 Court Street. Walk south on Court Street until you reach the intersection with West Street. Turn right onto West Street and continue until it turns into Route 103. Follow Route 103 for about 3 miles. There will be a sign for Buttermilk Falls Road; turn left onto Buttermilk Falls Road and walk another mile to reach the falls.
