    Getting There

    Car

    If you are driving, start by heading south on Mountain Road (VT-108) from the main lodge or any central location within Stowe Mountain Resort. Continue on Mountain Road until you reach the intersection with the Stowe-Morrisville Road (VT-100). Turn left onto VT-100 and follow it north. After about 3 miles, look for signs directing you to Sterling Pond. You will see a parking area for Sterling Pond located on the right side of the road. Please note that parking may be limited, especially during peak seasons. There are no fees for parking.

    Public Transportation

    To reach Sterling Mountain via public transportation, take the Stowe Mountain Resort shuttle service, which runs regularly between various locations in the resort. You can catch the shuttle from your lodge or the main base area. Inform the driver that you want to go to Sterling Pond. The shuttle will drop you off at the nearest point to the trailhead. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles to reach the Sterling Pond trailhead. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule ahead of time, as service may vary.

    Hiking

    If you are up for a hike, you can start from the Stowe Mountain Resort base area. Head towards the Sterling Mountain Trailhead. Follow the marked hiking trails leading to Sterling Pond, which is approximately a 2-mile hike. The trail is well-marked, and you can expect a moderate hike with some elevation gain. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear and bring water. This option is free but does require physical effort. Always check trail conditions before heading out.
