Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of White River Junction, VT, take US-4 E towards the town of Hartland. Continue on US-4 E for approximately 10 miles. Once you reach the intersection with VT-12, turn left onto VT-12 N. Follow VT-12 N for about 5 miles until you reach the town of Windsor. In Windsor, turn right onto Main Street (which becomes Bridge Street) and cross the bridge over the Connecticut River. After crossing, you will find the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge on your right, located at Cornish, NH 03745.

  • Public Transportation

    Take the Advance Transit bus from your location in Upper Valley to the White River Junction station. From there, you can catch a bus heading towards Windsor. Once you arrive in Windsor, you will need to walk about 1 mile to reach the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge. Head south on Main Street, which will lead you to Bridge Street. Cross the bridge over the Connecticut River, and the covered bridge will be visible on your right. Please check the Advance Transit schedule for exact timings.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, you can start from downtown Hanover, NH. Head west on Main Street until you reach the intersection with NH-10. Turn left onto NH-10 S and follow it for about 7 miles. Turn right onto US-4 W and continue for another 3 miles until you reach the VT-12 intersection. Turn left onto VT-12 N and follow the same route as the car directions. The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge will be on your right after you cross the Connecticut River. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules.
