Discovering the Majestic Brewster River Gorge

Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Montpelier, take US-2 E towards Middlesex. Continue on US-2 E for approximately 18 miles until you reach the intersection with VT-15 E. Turn left onto VT-15 E and follow it for about 10 miles. You'll then turn right onto Main St in Jeffersonville. After a short distance, turn left onto Canyon Rd. Follow Canyon Rd for about 2 miles; the Brewster River Gorge will be on your left. Parking may be available along the roadside.

• Public Transportation

  From Montpelier, take the Green Mountain Transit bus towards Stowe. This bus service typically runs once a day, so be sure to check the schedule in advance. Get off at the Jeffersonville stop. From there, you can either walk or use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Canyon Rd. It's about a 2-mile walk from the bus stop to Brewster River Gorge along Main St and Canyon Rd. Be prepared for some rural walking conditions.

• Biking

  If you're an adventurous cyclist, you can bike to Brewster River Gorge. From Stowe, take the Mountain Road to the intersection with VT-15 and then follow VT-15 E towards Jeffersonville. This is approximately a 12-mile ride. Once you reach Jeffersonville, turn onto Main St and then left onto Canyon Rd. Be mindful of traffic, especially on VT-15, as it is a busy road.
