Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Washington County, Vermont, head towards the nearest major road leading to Killington. If you are near Montpelier, take US-2 E towards I-89 S. Merge onto I-89 S and continue for approximately 12 miles. Take exit 8 for I-89 S toward White River Junction. Continue on I-89 S for about 25 miles, then merge onto US-4 E toward Killington. Stay on US-4 E for about 15 miles until you reach the intersection with River Rd. Turn right onto River Rd Fork and follow it for about 1 mile. The Thundering Brook Falls Trail parking area will be on your right.

  To reach Thundering Brook Falls Trail using public transportation, first take a Greyhound or local bus service to Rutland, Vermont. From Rutland, you can use the local shuttle service or taxi to reach Killington. Check local schedules as the frequency may vary. Upon arriving in Killington, you can catch a taxi or rideshare to the Thundering Brook Falls Trailhead located at 2295 River Rd Fork. Make sure to confirm the taxi fare beforehand, as it could cost anywhere from $15 to $30 depending on the distance from the bus station.

  For those who prefer cycling, there are bike routes from nearby towns to Killington. From Rutland, you can take the US-4 E route via bike which is approximately 15 miles long. The route is mostly flat and scenic. Once you reach Killington, head to River Rd Fork, where you can find the trailhead parking area. Ensure you have a bike lock and wear a helmet for safety.
