If you are driving, start from Cat Ba Town. Head southeast on Trung Trang Road for about 8 kilometers. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the second exit onto Viet Hai Road. Follow the road for another 5 kilometers, and you will see signs directing you to Ba Men Temple. There is limited parking near the temple.
Public Bus
To reach Ba Men Temple using public transportation, start at Cat Ba Town and locate the bus station. Take the bus to Viet Hai, which departs regularly throughout the day. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around 20,000 VND. Once you arrive in Viet Hai, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Ba Men Temple, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle
For a more adventurous option, you can rent a bicycle in Cat Ba Town. Ride southeast on Trung Trang Road for about 8 kilometers, then turn onto Viet Hai Road. The ride to the temple is scenic but can be challenging due to the hilly terrain. Ensure you're hydrated and take breaks as needed. The biking distance is approximately 13 kilometers from Cat Ba Town to Ba Men Temple.
Motorbike
Renting a motorbike is a great way to explore Cat Ba Island. From Cat Ba Town, head southeast on Trung Trang Road for about 8 kilometers, then continue onto Viet Hai Road. The ride takes around 20-25 minutes, and you can park near the temple. Renting a motorbike typically costs around 100,000 VND per day.
