Bus
To reach Cholon in District 5, you can take Bus No. 19 from Ben Thanh Market. Head to the nearest bus stop at Le Loi Street, near the market. Board Bus No. 19, which will take you directly towards District 5. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes, and get off at the stop near Tran Hung Dao Street. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Cholon. Follow Tran Hung Dao Street until you reach the intersection with Nguyen Trai Street, then turn left. Continue straight until you see the signs for Cholon.
Metro
Although the metro system is still under development in Ho Chi Minh City, you can use the current bus services to get close to Cholon. If a metro line is available during your visit, head to Ben Thanh Station, then transfer to the nearest bus that heads towards District 5. Check local transit maps for the latest information on routes and connections.
Walking
If you are staying in the District 1 area, you can walk to Cholon. Start from Ben Thanh Market and head west along Le Loi Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Tran Hung Dao Street. Turn left and follow Tran Hung Dao Street for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You'll see signs directing you to Cholon, which is a vibrant area known for its Chinese heritage and markets.
Cyclo
For a more traditional mode of transportation, you can hire a cyclo (a three-wheeled bicycle taxi) from popular tourist areas like Ben Thanh Market. Agree on a fare before starting your journey. The ride to Cholon takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Enjoy the sights along the way, as your driver will take you through bustling streets and provide a unique perspective of the city.
Grab (Ride-Hailing Service)
You can easily use the Grab app to book a ride to Cholon from anywhere in Ho Chi Minh City.
