Walking
If you are in downtown Hue, start at the Hue Imperial City (Đại Nội). Exit the Imperial City from the main gate and head south on Tran Hung Dao Street. Walk for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Le Duan Street. Turn left onto Le Duan Street and continue walking for another 1 kilometer until you reach the Thuy Bằng Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight for about 500 meters. You will see Thien An Monastery on your left, marked by a large gate.
Cyclo
From a central location like the Perfume River (Song Huong), hire a cyclo by asking a driver or flagging one down. Tell the driver you want to go to Thien An Monastery (Chùa Thiên An). The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The driver will take you along Le Duan Street, cross the Thuy Bằng Bridge, and drop you off right at the entrance of the monastery.
Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, start from the center of Hue. Ride south along the Perfume River until you reach Le Duan Street. Turn left onto Le Duan Street. Continue for about 2 kilometers until you reach the Thuy Bằng Bridge. Cycle across the bridge and then continue straight for about 500 meters. You will find Thien An Monastery on your left-hand side.
Public Bus
From the city center, locate the bus stop for Route 5 towards Thuy Bằng. The bus will take you towards the outskirts of Hue. Get off at the stop closest to Thuy Bằng Bridge. From there, it is a short walk of about 500 meters to the monastery. Head straight after getting off the bus, and you will see Thien An Monastery on your left.
