Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the center of Sapa, head south towards the main road, Muong Hoa Street. Walk along this street until you reach the crossroads at the intersection with Phan Xi Păng Street. Continue straight on Muong Hoa Street for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by several shops and local eateries, so feel free to stop and enjoy the local snacks. Look for directional signs pointing towards Hầu Thào. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will see signs leading to Sa Pa Sha on your left. Follow these signs uphill for approximately 500 meters until you reach the destination.

  • Trekking

    For a more adventurous route, consider trekking through the rice terraces. Start by following the same route to Muong Hoa Street, then take a left onto a smaller path leading to the rice fields. This pathway will take you through beautiful landscapes and local villages. Continue walking along the rice terraces for about 3 kilometers. Look for markers indicating the direction to Hầu Thào. The trek will take about 1.5 hours, depending on your pace, and will provide you with stunning views. Eventually, you will arrive at a junction where you will see signs pointing towards Sa Pa Sha. Follow the signs uphill for about 300 meters.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Sapa. Start your journey by heading south on Muong Hoa Street. Keep cycling straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the Hầu Thào area. Be cautious as the road can be steep. Once you reach Hầu Thào, look for signs indicating Sa Pa Sha and follow them uphill for another 600 meters. This route will take around 30 minutes, depending on your cycling speed, and offers a different perspective of the rural landscape.
