If you are driving, start by heading towards McLean, VA. Depending on your starting point, take the nearest major highway (like I-495 or I-66) and follow signs for the George Washington Parkway. Once on the parkway, take the exit for Great Falls Park. Follow the signs to the park entrance at 9200 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, VA 22102. There is an entrance fee of $20 per vehicle, or you can purchase an annual pass for $35. After entering the park, follow the road signs to Overlook 3, which is well-marked and accessible.

To reach Overlook 3 using public transportation, take the Metro to the McLean Station on the Silver Line. From there, you can catch the Fairfax Connector bus (Route 724) towards Tysons Corner. Get off at the stop for Great Falls Park, which is the closest stop. Be aware that the bus may not run frequently, so check the schedule ahead of time. Once you arrive at the park, you will need to walk to Overlook 3, which is about a half-mile hike from the bus stop. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes as the trail can be uneven.
