If you are already in Grayson Highlands State Park, the Appalachian Trail access point is easily reachable by car. Head to the Grayson Highlands State Park Entrance, located at 829 Grayson Highlands Ln, Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363. From the entrance, follow the park roads towards the picnic area and then continue towards the Massie Gap parking area. The Appalachian Trail can be accessed directly from the Massie Gap parking lot. Ensure that your vehicle is parked in designated parking spaces, as parking regulations are enforced.

Once you are at the Massie Gap parking area, follow the clearly marked signs leading to the Appalachian Trail. The trailhead is located near the parking lot. The hike to the Appalachian Trail from this point is relatively short and well-marked, making it accessible for most visitors. Be sure to carry plenty of water and wear appropriate hiking gear.
