If you're traveling by car, take the I-64 E freeway. Depending on your starting point in Hampton Roads, you might want to take one of the following routes: From Norfolk, get on I-264 E from E Main St; follow I-264 E to S Independence Blvd in Virginia Beach. Take exit 17 from I-264 E, then continue on S Independence Blvd. Turn left onto E Virginia Beach Blvd, then right onto Parish Rd. The Thoroughgood House will be on your left at 1636 Parish Rd. Parking is available on-site.

To reach The Thoroughgood House using public transportation, you can take the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus routes. From downtown Norfolk, take the 15 bus towards Virginia Beach. Get off at the bus stop near the intersection of S Independence Blvd and E Virginia Beach Blvd. From there, you can either walk or use a rideshare service to cover the remaining distance.
