Start at the Newport News Transit Center located at 700 Town Center Dr, Newport News, VA 23606. Take the 102 bus heading towards Williamsburg. The bus will take you directly to the Williamsburg area. You will need to get off at the stop closest to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, which is located at 101 Visitor Ctr Dr, Williamsburg, VA 23185. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the Visitor Center.

Take a train from the Newport News Amtrak Station located at 9304 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601. Board a train heading towards Williamsburg. The train ride takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Williamsburg station, you can walk or take a local bus to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, which is about 1.5 miles away. If walking, head southeast on E Francis St towards S Henry St, then turn left onto S Henry St and continue straight until you reach the Visitor Center.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Newport News. Head towards the James River and follow the scenic bike paths that lead towards Williamsburg. The distance is approximately 15 miles, and the bike ride should take about an hour. Make sure to follow the bike lanes and signs towards Colonial Williamsburg. Once you enter Williamsburg, follow the signs to the Visitor Center located at 101 Visitor Ctr Dr.

If you're feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, you can walk from Newport News to Williamsburg. The distance is approximately 15 miles, which could take around 5-6 hours. Start by heading west on Main St, then take a left onto 26th St. Follow 26th St as it becomes Jefferson Ave. Continue on Jefferson Ave until you reach the Williamsburg area. Once you arrive in Williamsburg, navigate to the Visitor Center at 101 Visitor Ctr Dr. It’s advisable to wear comfortable shoes and bring water along the way.
