Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the center of Petersburg, locate the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) bus stop near the Petersburg Courthouse. Take the PAT Bus Route 1, which heads towards the Southgate Shopping Center. Stay on the bus until you reach the Boydton Plank Rd stop. Exit the bus and walk east on Boydton Plank Rd. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 miles until you see Pamplin Historical Park on your right at 6125 Boydton Plank Rd. The park is well-marked, and you will notice the entrance sign.

  • Bicycling

    If you prefer to bike, begin at the Petersburg Riverwalk along the Appomattox River. Follow the river north until you reach the intersection with E Washington St. Turn right onto E Washington St and proceed to the intersection with S Sycamore St. Turn left onto S Sycamore St, which will take you to the intersection with Boydton Plank Rd. Turn right onto Boydton Plank Rd and continue biking for about 2 miles until you reach Pamplin Historical Park on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and obey all traffic signals.

    For those using public transportation, start by heading to the closest PAT bus stop and board the PAT Bus Route 2, which takes you towards the Southgate Shopping Center. Pamplin Historical Park will be on your right, and you will see signs directing you to the entrance.
