Public Transit
From Bellevue, walk to the Bellevue Transit Center located at 1100 110th Ave NE. Board the Sound Transit Route 586 bus towards Tacoma. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Tacoma Dome Station. At Tacoma Dome Station, transfer to the Pierce Transit Route 1 bus towards Point Defiance. Ride this bus for about 25 minutes, and get off at the 'Point Defiance Park' stop. You will find yourself right at the entrance of Point Defiance Park.
Bicycle
From Bellevue, head towards the Eastside Rail Corridor Trail by making your way to the intersection of NE 4th St and 116th Ave NE. Once on the trail, follow it south towards Renton. Continue along the trail until you reach the intersection of the trail and S 38th St. Here, turn left, and continue biking west until you reach the Tacoma waterfront. Follow signs to Point Defiance Park, which will be on your right.
Walking
If you prefer walking, it is best to first take the light rail from Bellevue to the Seattle Center. Once there, you can enjoy the sights and then catch the Sound Transit bus to Tacoma. After arriving in Tacoma, it’s a scenic walk to Point Defiance Park. From the bus stop, head south on N 21st St towards Pearl St, then turn right on Pearl St. Continue straight until you reach Point Defiance Park, which will be a little over a mile from the bus stop.
