Getting There

  • Public Transit

    From Federal Way Transit Center, take the Sound Transit bus route 586 heading towards Seattle. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the West Seattle Junction stop. From there, transfer to Metro Bus route 50 towards Alki Beach. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the Alki Ave SW & 63rd Ave SW stop. Walk west on Alki Ave SW for about 5 minutes to reach the Alki Trail.

    If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area on foot, start from the Federal Way Transit Center and walk south on 20th Ave S. Continue onto S 348th St and follow it until you reach Pacific Hwy S. Cross the highway and make your way to the bus stop for Sound Transit route 586. Once you board the bus, follow the previously mentioned directions to reach the Alki Trail.

    For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Federal Way. Head to the Interurban Trail and ride north towards Seattle. This route is about 25 miles long and takes you through scenic areas. When you reach the West Seattle area, look for signs directing you to Alki Beach. Once you arrive at Alki Beach, you'll find the Alki Trail along the waterfront.
