Bus
From Federal Way Transit Center, take Pierce Transit bus Route 186 towards Tacoma. The bus will make several stops, so ensure to stay on until you reach the 'Tacoma Dome Station'. This takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Tacoma Dome Station, transfer to Sound Transit bus Route 1 or 2 heading towards Tacoma City Center. Get off at the stop '11th St & Pacific Ave'. The Washington State History Museum is located a short walk from this stop, at 1911 Pacific Ave.

Light Rail
From Federal Way, walk to the nearest light rail station, which is Federal Way Transit Center. Board the Sound Transit Link Light Rail heading towards Tacoma Dome Station. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at Tacoma Dome Station. From there, switch to the Sound Transit bus Route 1 or 2 towards Tacoma City Center, and get off at '11th St & Pacific Ave'. The museum is just a short walk away at 1911 Pacific Ave.

If you're already in the downtown area of Federal Way and prefer walking, head towards 320th St and find the nearest bus stop. Catch a bus that goes to Tacoma (like Pierce Transit Route 186). Once you reach Tacoma Dome Station, follow the signs to Pacific Ave, then walk north on Pacific Ave for about 15 minutes until you reach the Washington State History Museum at 1911 Pacific Ave.
