Bus
From Kent Station, take the Sound Transit bus route 586 towards Seattle. The bus will make several stops, including important locations like Renton and the Southcenter Mall. Stay on the bus until you reach the West Seattle Junction stop. From there, transfer to the Metro bus route 50, which will take you directly to the Alki Trail. The trail is a short walk from the bus stop; simply head west on SW Alaska St, and you'll find the entrance to the trail.
Train and Bus
Begin your journey at Kent Station and take the Sounder train towards Seattle. After about a 30-minute ride, disembark at Seattle's King Street Station. From there, exit the station and walk to the nearby bus stop at 2nd Ave & Cherry St. Board the Metro bus route 773, which will take you to the Alki Beach stop. Once you arrive, it's just a quick walk to the Alki Trail entrance.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Kent. Start by heading west on 4th Ave N, then merge onto the Green River Trail. Follow the trail north until you reach the Duwamish River. Continue along the river until you reach the Alki Trail in West Seattle. This route offers beautiful views and is about a 15-mile ride.
Walking
If you're up for a long walk, you can start from the center of Kent. Head west on Smith St towards 4th Ave N, then take a left onto 4th Ave N. Continue walking until you reach the Green River Trail. Follow the trail north, and keep walking until you reach the Alki Trail in West Seattle. This is a lengthy walk, approximately 12 miles, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
