Bus
From downtown Kirkland, walk to the nearest bus stop on Kirkland Ave & 3rd St. Board the Metro Bus Route 255 heading towards Seattle. The bus will take you on a scenic route across the 520 bridge. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the stop at 4th Ave & Cherry St. From there, walk two blocks north on 4th Ave, and you will arrive at the Seattle Public Library located at 1000 4th Ave.
Light Rail
Walk to the nearest bus stop on Kirkland Ave & 3rd St and take the Metro Bus Route 255 to the University of Washington Light Rail Station. This will take about 30 minutes. Once at the University of Washington Station, board the Link Light Rail towards Northgate. Ride the train for about 20 minutes and get off at Westlake Station. From Westlake Station, walk about 10 minutes north on 4th Ave to reach the Seattle Public Library at 1000 4th Ave.
Walking
If you enjoy walking, start at Marina Park in Kirkland. Head west on Lake St and follow it as it turns into 1st St. Cross to the left side of the street and continue until you reach the intersection with Central Way. Turn left on Central Way and continue until you reach the Kirkland Transit Center. From there, catch Bus Route 255 towards Seattle, which will take you to the Seattle Public Library at 1000 4th Ave. Prepare for a total walking distance of approximately 1 mile before catching the bus.
