Bus
From Renton, walk to the nearest bus stop on 3rd Ave NE. Take the King County Metro Bus Route 105 towards Seattle. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'University Street Station' stop in Seattle. From there, transfer to the Link Light Rail at 'University Street' Station and take it to 'Westlake Station.' Once you arrive at Westlake Station, exit the station and walk towards 4th Ave. N. Continue walking straight until you reach Lake Union, which is located just a few blocks ahead.
Light Rail
Head to the nearest Link Light Rail station in Renton. Board the light rail heading towards 'University of Washington.' After approximately 35 minutes, get off at 'Westlake Station.' Upon exiting, walk northwest on 4th Ave. towards Denny Way. Continue walking straight on 4th Ave. N for about 10 minutes until you reach Lake Union.
Walking
If you are in central Renton, head towards the Renton Transit Center located at 200 Mill Ave S. From there, you can take a bus or walk. If walking, take Mill Ave S north until you reach S 2nd St. Turn left onto S 2nd St and continue until you reach the waterfront area of Lake Union, which will be a bit over 5 miles away. It will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to walk.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Renton. Start your ride heading north on Lake Washington Blvd NE. Continue until you reach the I-90 bridge. Cross the bridge, then follow the bike path to the Seattle waterfront. Continue along the waterfront towards Lake Union, which should take about 45 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
