If you're starting from Pike Place Market, exit the market and head towards 1st Avenue. Walk south on 1st Avenue until you reach the intersection with Union Street. Turn left on Union Street and continue walking until you reach Alaskan Way. From there, turn right and walk along Alaskan Way for about 10 minutes until you reach Pier 55 at 1101 Alaskan Way.
