Start at the Bluefield city center, located around Mercer Street. Head east on Mercer Street towards the intersection with the US-460. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 19. At this point, you will need to cross US-460 carefully, and follow the signs for Route 19 North. Continue walking along Route 19; this area has sidewalks for your safety. After about 1 mile, you will reach the intersection with East River Mountain Road. Turn left onto East River Mountain Road and continue walking. Keep an eye out for signs directing you towards the East River Mountain Scenic Overlook. The overlook is approximately 1.5 miles up East River Mountain Road, where you will find a designated area for viewing.
