If you are starting from downtown Green Bay, walk towards the Fox River Trail. Head east on Main Street until you reach the Fox River Trail entrance at the intersection with Washington Street. Once on the trail, follow the path along the Fox River, enjoying the scenery. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the marker location, which is situated along the trail. Look for the historical marker on your right side, near the water.

For those who prefer biking, start at the Green Bay Botanical Garden located at 2600 Larsen Rd. Exit the garden and ride north on Larsen Road. Take a left onto the Fox River Trail and follow the path. Continue for about 2 miles, and you will see Wisconsin State Historical Marker 156: Hazelwood on your left side near the water. This route provides a pleasant ride along the river.

To reach Wisconsin State Historical Marker 156 using public transportation, take the Green Bay Metro bus route that goes towards the downtown area. Disembark at the stop closest to the Fox River Trail, such as the stop at Main St & Cherry St. From there, walk east along Main Street to the Fox River Trail entrance at Washington Street. Once you enter the trail, walk along the river for about 1.5 miles, and you will find the historical marker on your right side.
