If you are traveling by car, start from any point in the Ice Age Trail. Use a GPS or mapping app and enter the destination address: 12231 Buttercup Dr, Hancock, WI 54943. Follow the directions, which will generally lead you onto WI-21 W. Continue on WI-21 W for about 15 miles until you reach the intersection with WI-73 N. Turn left onto WI-73 N and drive for approximately 5 miles. Then, turn right onto Buttercup Dr. The trailhead is located at the end of Buttercup Dr.

Once you arrive at the Hancock bus station, call a local taxi service to get to the Ice Age Trail-Mecan River Segment north at 12231 Buttercup Dr. Taxis may cost around $15-$25 depending on the distance from the bus station to the trailhead.

If you are in nearby towns such as Hancock and prefer cycling, you can bike to the trailhead. From the center of Hancock, head west on WI-21 for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto WI-73 N. After approximately 0.5 miles, take a right onto Buttercup Dr and continue until you reach the trailhead. Ensure you wear a helmet and bring water for your ride.
