Car
To reach the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center by car, start from Laramie, Wyoming. Head north on US-287 N/US-30 W towards Fort Collins for about 60 miles. Merge onto I-80 W and continue for about 30 miles. Take exit 111A to merge onto I-25 N towards Cheyenne. After about 20 miles, take exit 4B to merge onto I-90 W towards Gillette. Continue on I-90 W for approximately 120 miles. Take exit 155 toward Powell, then turn left onto US-14/US-16. After about 18 miles, turn right onto Rd 19. The Heart Mountain Interpretive Center will be on your left at 1539 Rd 19, Powell, WY 82435.
Public Transportation
If using public transportation, you can take the Greyhound bus service from Laramie to Cody. Once you arrive in Cody, you’ll need to take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center, which is about 30 miles away. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary and reservations are recommended. The approximate taxi fare from Cody to the center will be around $50-$70.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, biking to Heart Mountain Interpretive Center is an option. Starting from Powell, take US-14 for approximately 18 miles. The route is scenic but be prepared for varying weather conditions and traffic. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all road safety rules. This ride will take around 2 hours depending on your cycling speed.
